Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Ironwood Vista Medical Partners builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in San Jose, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 727 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around complaint handling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to training materials, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with training materials. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
