Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Rivermark Orchard Freight Group coordinates shipments and warehousing around Baltimore. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
