Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Fernwood Linden Facilities is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for safety inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Bilingual teams are common. What you will do • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with safety inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
