Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove River Medical and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Patient safety shapes every decision. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Sacramento. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
