Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Amberfield Timber Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for materials orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to materials orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with materials orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Tampa. • We reply to every applicant.
