Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Rivermark Basin Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Portland, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 559 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cleaning schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around safety inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with cleaning schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Portland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
