Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Greenridge Sparrow Foods produces packaged foods at its New Orleans plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
