Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Summit Field Staffing is a Columbus staffing firm for warehouse, office and healthcare roles. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 430 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around retention against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client orders. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Columbus. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
