Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Linden Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Dallas. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Dallas. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
