Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Redstone Haven Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Fresno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around student accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Fresno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
