Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Northwind Thistle Early Learning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for tuition and subsidies, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with tuition and subsidies. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in San Antonio. • We reply to every applicant.
