Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Harborlight Wren Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Savannah. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Savannah. • We reply to every applicant.
