Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Clearpath Wren Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Reno. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around loads and lanes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer tracking, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with customer tracking. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Reno. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
