Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Fernwood Basin Foods Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for sanitation schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who take pride in what they make. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Cleveland. • We reply to every applicant.
