Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Redstone Umber Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Buffalo. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 556 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with safety inspections. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Buffalo. • We reply to every applicant.
