Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Lumen Vale Manufacturing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for scrap and rework, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 189 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scrap and rework, and clear open items. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with scrap and rework. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Birmingham. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
