Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Stonegate Cedar Foods produces packaged foods at its Boston plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 395 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to sanitation schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
