Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Raleigh, NC)

Bright Clear Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Raleigh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with harvest schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Raleigh. • We reply to every applicant.
