Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Raleigh, NC)

Clearpath Stone Transit Planning Group is a transit-planning firm in Raleigh working with agencies and riders, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with accessibility audits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Raleigh. • We reply to every applicant.
