Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Providence, RI)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Ashton Health and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We are busy and kind, and we look after each other. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to patient education, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around clinic supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with patient education. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Providence, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
