Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Providence, RI)

Rivermark Property Management Group manages apartment communities around Providence. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 505 people based in Providence. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to unit turnovers, and clear open items. • Track costs around maintenance requests against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with unit turnovers. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Providence. • We reply to every applicant.
