Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Portland, OR)

Silverline Quill Farms is an agricultural business based around Portland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with harvest schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Portland. • We reply to every applicant.
