Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Portland, OR)

Lumen Pike Insurance is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for customer complaints, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 357 people based in Portland. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer complaints, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
