Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Pittsburgh, PA)

Nova Kestrel Financial is a financial-services company in Pittsburgh. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 25 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with regulatory reports. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
