Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Pittsburgh, PA)

Fernwood Clear Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Pittsburgh region, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Pittsburgh. • We reply to every applicant.
