Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Pittsburgh, PA)

Rivermark Pine Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Pittsburgh, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 752 people based in Pittsburgh. What you will do • Track costs around water quality against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pipe repairs, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with pipe repairs.
