Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Phoenix, AZ)

Bright Quarry Inspection Services tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Phoenix. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 22 people based in Phoenix. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with scheduling. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Phoenix. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
