Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Philadelphia, PA)

Foxglove Timber Insurance Partners provides coverage to households and businesses around Philadelphia, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 53 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with underwriting files. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Philadelphia, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
