Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Orlando, FL)

Highbridge Haven Construction is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for subcontractor invoices, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 151 people based in Orlando. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around project schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with subcontractor invoices. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
