Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Orlando, FL)

Fernwood Clear Hospitality is a hospitality company in Orlando with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around group events against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier orders. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Orlando. • We reply to every applicant.
