Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Omaha, NE)

Cedar Rowan Farms Group grows and distributes produce from farms near Omaha, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around seasonal crews against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with harvest schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
