Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Oakland, CA)

We are growing our team at Lumen Quill Banking Services Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Most people here started in a branch and stayed. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around loan files against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with branch operations. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
