Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Oakland, CA)

Clearpath Cross Foods is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for cold storage, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 17 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production batches against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with cold storage. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
