Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Oakland, CA)

Cedar Cobalt Medical designs and makes medical devices in Oakland, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 240 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around device records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with clinical evaluations. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
