Accountant - grant and fund accounting (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Junction Manufacturing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around work orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with customer orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
