Accountant - grant and fund accounting (New Orleans, LA)

Foxglove Yarrow Legal Group provides legal services in New Orleans across employment, housing and small-business law. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 191 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to court deadlines, and clear open items. • Track costs around client files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
