Accountant - grant and fund accounting (New Orleans, LA)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Sable Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in New Orleans. • We reply to every applicant.
