Accountant - grant and fund accounting (New Orleans, LA)

Foxglove Keystone Environmental Services Partners is an environmental-services company in New Orleans with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We take pride in clean streets. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in New Orleans, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
