Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Nashville, TN)

Stonegate Beacon Community Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for benefits enrolment, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Mission matters here, and so does looking after staff. What you will do • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Nashville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
