Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Nashville, TN)

Cedar Umber Banking Services Group is a regional lender in Nashville with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around account openings against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Nashville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
