Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Nashville, TN)

Redstone Lakeside Freight is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for dock schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 18 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with dock schedules.
