Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Minneapolis, MN)

Harborlight Bright Financial Group serves customers across Minneapolis with accounts, loans and payments, and we need an Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory reports. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
