Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Minneapolis, MN)

Highbridge Birch Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for weigh tickets, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to weigh tickets, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
