Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Minneapolis, MN)

Harborlight Yarrow Civic Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for procurement, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 154 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with procurement.
