Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Miami, FL)

Summit Quarry Transit Planning is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for accessibility audits, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to accessibility audits, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with accessibility audits.
