Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Miami, FL)

Clearpath West Energy Partners is an energy provider in Miami focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service connections, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with service connections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Miami. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
