Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Miami, FL)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Orchard Energy and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Miami. • We reply to every applicant.
