Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Memphis, TN)

Nova River Property Management is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for maintenance requests, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We are flexible about schedules. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with maintenance requests. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Memphis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
