Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Madison, WI)

Nova Vista Financial Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for regulatory reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Teams collaborate across risk, service and technology. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory reports.
