Highbridge Beacon Early Learning · Louisville, KY · part time

We are growing our team at Highbridge Beacon Early Learning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Louisville. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tuition and subsidies, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with tuition and subsidies. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Louisville, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
